What’s On Your i-Pod?

I got this from Tim's site away over there in Manchester, England.  I like his site so I'm adding it to my list (ya, that ridiculously long list to the right! LOL!)

Tim is a lover of music and had this cool post in June.   Love the silhouette of the Queen with an iPod.

What’s On Your i-Pod?

Apparently even the Queen now owns an i-Pod as well, which I found somehow endearing and started wondering what kind of music might be on there, the mind boggles.

So inspired by idea that I got to thinking (I’ve got too much times on my hands, I know), I just want to know what type of music you all listen to whether at work, in your car, at the gym, at home etc.

It doesn’t matter whether it’s current, old school or just plain weird, in fact the odder the better.

By the way, you don't necessarily have to own an i-Pod I just want to try and get people to suggest what type of music/artists they love and maybe get other people introduced or even coerced into liking your favourite artists as well.

It’s just an idea that I came up with quickly so there’s no strict rules on how to do this in particular, just basically:

suggest a song or album & the name of the artist you like/recommend;

give a reason why you love it/them; and/or why other people should give it a listen;

 if they have a website, feel free to put it as well so other people can check it as well;

 if you know they’re performing somewhere near you, tell us the venue/date etc;

Love this idea!  Participate here and/or at Tim's site.

I have wide variety of stuff on my iPod mini.  Currently 800+ songs....and still have room for more.  Woo hoo!

  • over 150 R&B songs
  • lots of rock
  • lots of jazz
  • some EMDR relaxation exercises (yes really)
  • lots of trip hop, acid jazz, & ambient kinda stuff
  • and of course my favourite music artists: Morcheeba, Jamiroquai, Zero 7, Afro Celt Sound System, Supreme Beings of Leisure, Theivery Corporation, Angelique Kidjo, Groove Armada, Down to the Bone

My favourite song is always changing, but for time being: it's "Divine" by Supreme Beings of Leisure.  This has been my fav song for quite some time.  I listen to it everyday (sometimes more than once) and I haven't gotten tired of it.  I love the heavy beat that makes you want to dance (it's great for walking to as well), and the singer's voice is awesome.  Plus the lyrics are very uplifting and life-affirming.

Mine is anything texas Country - that includes everyone from Willie & Waylon to Cross Canadian Ragweed, Kevin Fowler and Cory Morrow - But most of all - Gotta LOVE Pat Green!!!! The music is more real & much less polished than the stuff coming out of Nashville in my opinion. Anyway, had to put my two cents in & support my Texas artists & my red dirt bands!!!

I love Van Morrison's live double album, "It's Too Late to Stop Now" The players in the band play like virtuoso jazz musicians and Van sings soulfully.
